The hiring process is a long process due to Southwest being a part of the travel industry. Very extensive background checks are done. It took weeks to get a first interview and several more weeks for a face to face interview before having to wait weeks for the extensive background check to come back. They were the first employer I have had to ask me to produce my physical diploma.

The process was I went online and answered a link that was in my email you get your interview and then the next step you go for fingerprinting and background checks takes about two weeks to complete the process and then they assign you in a class which is about six weeks I believe it was and they give you lunch or dinner depending on your shift

Had an amazing associate recruiter, she made feel very welcomed and eased my nerves and really honed in on it being a conversation with a friend. Interview was suppose to be 30 minutes and we talked for over an hour! Very friendly and really was listening to what I had to say. One of the best interviews I've ever had.

Over a video chat, with two recruiters, very easy and straight forward, like most interviews just virtual. it was fast for an interview in my experience. it took about 15-20 mins to get thru the questions they had for me.
