I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sodexo (Bourbonnais, IL) in Sept 2014
Interview
Very brief. Sodexo brings you in to make sure you know the basic requirements and can communicate effectively. Nothing was too hard. There were no behavioral based interview questions. The only questions asked were about how effectively you can do the job. They then have you take a drug test and complete a background check. You are called in after that so they can give you a uniform and start orientation/training.
Easy interview easy job to gain. Requires no experience at all just be groomed and ready to work hard. The interview process is easy just have some skill and experience in food service.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you have experience in food service or hospitality?
If you show up, you're hired. They make it sound like there are always hours to pick up, but that is not true once you're hired. They tell you the schedule is up two weeks in advance, but it won't go up until the day before usually.
Simple and easy, just ask for your availability and what they want you to do. It was very quick. You do not have to prepare much. They often let you choose what shift you want to work as well. Work shoes are provided but a bit strict on tardy.
