I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Oklahoma City, OK) in Oct 2018
Interview
1 on-campus interview and 1 on-site interview with manager. The whole process went smoothly and pleasantly. They called me the day after the interview to tell me the result. It was one of very few positive interview processes I have been through.
HR works quickly and very helpful.
Went through college recruiting back in 2019. Very friendly and not difficult. Interviewer was a TL who eased into the conversation, followed by some SQL questions, and behavioral questions. Second round is usually a SQL coding test virtually/on campus.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Paycom (Edmond, OK) in Jun 2025
Interview
They initially told me the interview would be focused on my personal background, career goals, and learning more about the position. But instead, they jumped straight into intense technical questions without any context or warm-up. It completely caught me off guard and made me feel unprepared. The shift in tone was unexpected and discouraging, and it honestly crushed my confidence for future interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked multiple technical problem-solving questions right off the bat, like SQL challenges and scenario-based logic problems.

First Recruiter call was overall quick. We went over my resume. Answered some general HR related questions. Answered a couple of situational questions. Talked a bit more in depth of the position as well as the knowledge requirements for that position.
