I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at MongoDB
Interview
The interview ask some behavior and (a little) technical questions on the phone interview and afterwards, may have another phone interview for technical (but didn't move to that stage)
I applied through other source. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at MongoDB (Sydney) in Jan 2018
Interview
You’re convinced that this interview is going to be a total waste of time, and you can’t help feeling irritated. If you try to go through all steps, as soon as it starts taking longer, you’ll be lost in frustration.
I would say it is a long process involving some video calls before finally meeting someone face to face.
Firstly, someone from RH will get in contact to ask you questions relevant to the position, however, they don't know exactly details about the role. This part can take a few weeks until they get some time and show up for the call.
Secondly, someone who does have technical knowledge will contact and ask you these useless theoretical questions that nobody really cares about and make no difference in your day to day.
They will even ask you to explain quotes from book or question that will come up on the top page when you start googling.
So if you want to move forward from this stage you should search for theoretical interview questions, then the top 10 questions that comes up will be asked during this call.
It is a shame that no one really cares about all projects that you have worked on, system architecture or important stuff just like that.
Then finally they will contact you to go to the company and spend half day with them, during this time there will have 3 or more interviews with different teams asking same questions.
Summarising, the entire process took me over months and I had no feedback at all.
Really disappointed how they deal with the candidates.
