I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl in Jun 2024
Interview
Clear, comfortable, welcoming. Felt really welcome and questions weren’t too difficult to answer, research from website is ideal.
Telephone call was the first part of the process then a face to face interview.

Question 1
Why is Lidl seen as better than the other supermarket companies?
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
