      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Lidl (Haydock, England) in Aug 2018

      Interview

I applied on line to Lidl, and selected jobs in my immediate area, on line application was mainly a CV and some extras, example a photo and a letter of application, just to see how you are with letter writing and expressing yourself on a computer. The hardest part was the 25 minute IQ test, but believe me after you have done it a 3rd time, it's plain sailing, just do not panic. Best plan leave the Lidl that you want MOST as the last, by which time the IQ test will be straight forward for you. A week later received an email from one of the Lidl's, rung them up straight away, and agreed to go next day for an interview. I was really excited. Went there, met a really nice pair of guys, and I mean really nice, the store manager and the area manager, and it was a one to one. Felt so at ease with them, in a way, as if they were good friends so to speak, and tried my best (nervously) to answer all the questions. The beauty of this interview was the actual person interviewing me, who I am so grateful too, said that he will let me know straight away, (A few days) instead of all this waiting around for weeks on end. I would love to name the guys, but best not, they were really so so human in every way. The area manager rung me within 2 days offered me a job at a Lidl branch in st helens merseyside (there are 3 or more in the local area), and i got the one that was really near to home too, which was a god send, after my previous job taking hours to drive to each day. I cannot fault the interview process at all, and the outcome was indeed positive, I totally recommend Lidl in every way. After that I went for a welcome event at Lidl in Runcorn, many other people there who were due to start at other Lidl's, thoroughly enjoyed it, even down to the two buffets and endless coffee!. Had a tour of the warehouse at the distrtibution centre, which really opened my eyes, and came back with bags of goodys from Lidl, even 4 yes 4 uniforms and a hoody. Give Lidl a go, it's one of the nicest places I have ever worked, and so so modern and technically innovative in every way. Even the managers serve on a till if busy, I never ever saw that in my previous supermarket job, when the managers would spend valuable time getting people off the shop floor, leaving a mess, then onto a till, instead of doing it themselves.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Novi Sad) in Apr 2026

      Interview

My experience with this company was very poor. I initially applied for a position and was contacted by phone to confirm my interest. After that, an interview was scheduled, which I confirmed and attended as agreed. However, after some time, I received an email stating that I did not attend the interview and that my application was considered withdrawn — which is simply not true, as I was present and completed the interview. I reached out to clarify the situation and had to wait almost a week for them to investigate what should have been a simple mistake. When they finally responded, I was informed that I was not selected for a sales position in a city I never applied for. They apologized and explained it was a system error — but at that point, there had already been two major system errors during my application process. Overall, this was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with a company that presents itself as organized and a desirable employer. Unfortunately, my experience showed the opposite.
