I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl in Jun 2016
Interview
Applied online received an email about a week later saying that I've been chosen for an interview in a hotel near the store the following week. As far as I know there was me and three other who had interviews that day.
Was interview by the location manager and a store manager they told me it wasn't going to be very formal they just want to ask me some questions and get to know me a bit. Asked me how would I get to work if I was working later and buses etc are not running. They also told me that they were looking for people for a couple of stores to I was quiet confident I was going to get the place in one of them so when they told me that I was a lot more relaxed
Asked about availability as I was a university student, gave me a scenario of situations happening in store and asked how I would priority each one, asked what my favourite Lidl item was
I interviewed at Lidl (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)
Interview
Took 10 mins interview with a manager and a supervisor. Basic questions however really stressful but overall good experience not hard questions just very particular. Employees all seemed nice. Was told I’d receive a call within a week if I was accepted however didn’t receive one so
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Novi Sad) in Apr 2026
Interview
My experience with this company was very poor.
I initially applied for a position and was contacted by phone to confirm my interest. After that, an interview was scheduled, which I confirmed and attended as agreed.
However, after some time, I received an email stating that I did not attend the interview and that my application was considered withdrawn — which is simply not true, as I was present and completed the interview.
I reached out to clarify the situation and had to wait almost a week for them to investigate what should have been a simple mistake. When they finally responded, I was informed that I was not selected for a sales position in a city I never applied for.
They apologized and explained it was a system error — but at that point, there had already been two major system errors during my application process.
Overall, this was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with a company that presents itself as organized and a desirable employer. Unfortunately, my experience showed the opposite.
