Simple process, meet with the store manager first, get to know them and be yourself. After passing with them interview with the district manager for more run of the mill interview questions.

Interview
After applying to a San Antonio store online I was instantly reached out to. I went in for my first interview which went smoothly and was requested back the next day for a follow up interview with another manager which went just as well and included a lot of positive feedback. On my way home I received a call requesting another interview with the DM at another location the following week. That interview went well. All interviews involved the same questions. After the last one I was told I would get a call back by the end of the week. After not hearing anything I called a few times to the store I applied in which they had no news. A month later I accepted I won't get the position but extremely disappointed in the lack of courtesy and professionalism by not just calling and letting me know. Especially after I invested the time for three interviews for a management position.
For reference I have 4+ years management experience in superior retail stores.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Hot Topic in Mar 2016
Interview
It was really fun and laid back. Was no need to feel intimidated or nervous. It was like talking to one of your friends about your nerdy interests. I actuallu enjoyed it.
