I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in May 2017
Interview
Submitted my resume online and got nowhere, had a friend who works there send it in and got a call from an internal recruiter. From there we progressed to a phone screen and 2 in-person interviews. Due to internal changes along the way the whole process took about 3 months.

Question 1
Why do you want to work here? Why not keep doing what you're doing?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in Apr 2025
Interview
it wasn't difficult but the talent acquisition person was quite all over the place. he was venting about the hiring team not being patient with a new hire but the two biggest issues were pressuring me to try to fit in Gilead interviews in the next two days when my schedule is usually pretty full a month out so next two days has never been an ask by any company. also he sent me multiple emails getting me to reply to an email from earlier in the day
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences
Interview
2 rounds, (1) 45 minute screening interview by hiring manager, (5) 30 or 45 minute interviews by a panel with cross functional representation, (1) case study with 1 hour preparation allowed

Question 1
Why Gilead? Why now?
How would you approach xx situation?
This job is for XX product, tell me about your thoughts on XX and the market.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Uxbridge, England) in Feb 2019
Interview
First screening took place 6 months after initial application and only really got picked up after someone submitted it internally rather than online process. After that it was more straightforward with first conversation with internal recruiter, screening hiring manager, than a series of interviews with his peers (2-3 candidates). Was told that process and organisation in general work in a consensus building, so a large number of people need to agree on best candidate / course of action, and they pride themselves on being very thorough on their selection process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Had series of interviews in the same day (full day), some with just one interviewer at a time, other with two interviewers together (8 interviewers in total). Given the number of people, I was asked all sorts of behavioural questions and competence questions.
