Novartis – Why Work With Us?

750 million!

That’s how many lives our products touched in 2018. 200 projects currently in clinical development. 16 major approvals last year alone. These are achievements we’re incredibly proud of, but in this world of digital and technological transformation, we must also ask ourselves this: how can we continue to improve and extend even more people’s lives?

Novartis focuses on innovative patent-protected medicines, generics and eye care products – segments where we have global reach and strong relations with our customers. Research and development (R&D) sits at the core of our business and central to our strategy. Our global organizations for manufacturing, business services and other functions help increase efficiency and promote excellence.

Our Divisions

Innovative Medicines:

The Innovative Medicines Division has two business units:

Novartis Pharmaceuticals focuses on patented treatments in the areas of ophthalmology; immunology, hepatology and dermatology; neuroscience; respiratory; and cardio-metabolic.

Sandoz offers patients and healthcare professionals high-quality, affordable generics and biosimilars.

Functional organizations with a global reach:

Novartis Business Services (NBS) consolidates support services across our organization, helping drive efficiency, simplification, standardization and quality.

Corporate Functions support the enterprise in specific areas of expertise, including finance, human resources, legal and communications.

With 1,600 people across 3 locations in Cork and Dublin Novartis is one of Ireland’s leading employers in the healthcare industry. One of the first pharmaceutical companies to locate in Ireland in the 1950’s, Novartis has strong history of investing in Ireland over the last sixty years.

Our manufacturing and development is based in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork. In March 2013 Novartis announced the establishment of a Global Business Services Center in Elm Park where Novartis Pharmaceuticals is also based.

The Irish Pharmaceutical industry currently generates over 50 percent of the country’s exports contributing to making Ireland the largest net exporter of medicines in the EU. 9 of the top 10 pharma companies in the world are located in Ireland. The industry directly employs over 24,500 people, over half of which are third level graduates.

Novartis Business Services Center, Dublin

The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge. The center, one of five around the world, delivers a broad variety of services to the Novartis divisions and organisations worldwide. Services offered by the Dublin team include scientific and commercial services, IT, HR operations and procurement.

The operation is continuing to grow rapidly and has a number of exciting vacancies for experienced high-cailbre candidates who are interested in working as part of an international team delivering services globally.

Novartis, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork

Novartis Ringaskiddy is home to both the manufacturing site, Novartis Ringaskiddy Limited (NRL) and to Novartis International Pharmaceutical Ltd, Branch Ireland (NIPBI) which is comprised of the International Services Laboratory, the External Supply Organisation, Supply Chain and administrative functions.

Novartis Ringaskiddy manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients for a range of oncology, respiratory, cardiovascular, dermatology, central nervous system and transplantation medicines. Employing approximately 600 people across the Ringaskiddy campus both NRL and NIPBI are an important part of the Novartis global network.

We are inspired by helping patients and the communities where we live and work. This not only includes our day-to-day efforts as we develop and make available innovative medicines, but also how we give back through volunteering, charitable giving, and patient assistance programs.

Expanding Access to Healthcare: Developing new and innovative ways to reach people in lower-income countries is one of our top priorities. To expand access to healthcare, we pursue a variety of approaches.

Doing Business Responsibly: We recognize that achieving our business goals requires that we operate with high integrity, transparency and environmental sustainability.

Corporate Responsibility Report: Novartis has a strong history of corporate responsibility activities, and transparent reporting is a central part of our commitment.

These are achievements we’re incredibly proud of, but in this world of digital and technological transformation, we must also ask ourselves this: how can we continue to improve and extend even more people’s lives?

We believe the answers are found when curious, courageous and collaborative people like you are brought together in an inspiring environment. Where you’re given the opportunity to explore the power and potential of data and digital. Where you’re empowered to risk failure by taking smart risks. Where you’re encouraged to share new ideas that can open up new ways of making things happen. And where you’re surrounded by teams who are equally determined to transform lives by tackling the world’s toughest medical challenges.

I applied online. I interviewed at Novartis (East Hanover, NJ (US)) in April 2017.

Human Resources was wonderful, they sent maps, interview schedule and FAQ's about the company in advance aw well as directions, map of facility. The receptionist had all information on file to get through security. The campus is absolutely beautiful. Gym, pharmacy and company store on site as well as several restaurants.
