With 1,200 people across 2 locations in Cork and Dublin Novartis is one of Ireland’s leading employers in the healthcare industry. One of the first pharmaceutical companies to locate in Ireland in the 1950’s, Novartis has strong history of investing in Ireland over the last sixty years.

Our manufacturing and development is based in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork. In March 2013 Novartis announced the establishment of a Global Business Services Center in Elm Park where Novartis Pharmaceuticals is also based.

Over the past 10 years, the Irish Pharmaceutical industry has invested close to €10 billion in manufacturing and research sites around the country. Ireland hosts 75 pharmaceutical companies, including all of the top 10 in the world. In 1988, just 5,200 worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Today, international pharmaceutical companies directly employ 30,000 people, with about as many more working in spin-off jobs.

Novartis Business Services Center, Dublin

The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge. The center, one of five around the world, delivers a broad variety of services to the Novartis divisions and organisations worldwide. Services offered by the Dublin team include Scientific and Commercial Services, IT, HR Services and Procurement.

NGSC Dublin has a deep talent pool driving innovation, standardisation and world-class service delivery. There are currently more than 500 associates employed at the site with 38 nationalities speaking 29 languages. Almost half of the associates are educated to master’s degree level while 17% hold a PhD.

799 million!

That’s how many lives our products touched in 2019. 160+ projects currently in clinical development. 24 major approvals last year alone. These are achievements we’re incredibly proud of, but in this world of digital and technological transformation, we must also ask ourselves this: how can we continue to improve and extend even more people’s lives?

We believe the answers are found when curious, courageous and collaborative people like you are brought together in an inspiring environment. Where you’re given the opportunity to explore the power and potential of data and digital. Where you’re empowered to risk failure by taking smart risks. Where you’re encouraged to share new ideas that can open up new ways of making things happen. And where you’re surrounded by teams who are equally determined to transform lives by tackling the world’s toughest medical challenges.

Our values define our culture and help us fulfill our mission

At Novartis, we have introduced values that describe the professional behaviors we expect from our employees. These values are an integral part of the framework we use to recruit people, develop them, and assess and reward their performance.

We encourage people to experiment and take smart risks. Our aim is to foster creative thinking that leads to practical solutions to healthcare and business challenges.

Our focus on quality excellence includes continuously enhancing our standards, technology and training for our people.

We foster teamwork among our employees to swiftly and efficiently deliver innovative new products to patients and healthcare providers. This capitalizes on the diversity and creativity of our global staff.

Our people are known for their focus on results. We aim to reinforce that focus on personal and collective achievement, while maintaining high ethical standards.

We want our associates to speak out, challenge conventional thinking, and stand up for their ideas. We also want them to have the courage to do the right thing in the face of resistance or moral dilemmas.

Our Code of Conduct sets high ethical standards, and comprehensive training ensures our associates know how to apply these standards in their work.

Our differences make us powerful

While our diverse workforce brings different people and perspectives together, inclusion is making the mix work. It is about creating an atmosphere and an environment where each of us feels valued, respected and heard.

    Data Scientist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Dublin, Co. Dublin
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

Everyone I talked to at Novartis was nice and professional. Interviews were typically spontaneous and unrehearsed, but generally focused on relevant questions about prior experience and how I would solve particular problems.

However, the interview process dragged on for several months with no clear end or goal. Interviews were constantly cancelled and rescheduled. I lost at least 3 days work from cancelled interviews, and since I am a contractor, going through the whole process cost me over 1000e. The process ended with yet another interview that was cancelled at the last moment, followed by an email weeks later saying that I didn't get the job.

There are definitely some great people working at Novartis, but their behavior towards potential candidates is shocking and needs to be fixed.
