I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at First Derivatives (Newry, Northern Ireland) in Dec 2013
Interview
Applied online, and then had a telephone interview. The telephone interview was very straight forward. They asked me about my CV, course material and about why I choose First Derivatives.
I then got invited to an interview at their Newry Office. This lasted all day and consisted of two different interviewers seeing you separately. There seemed to be confusion as I was being interviewed for Software Engineer but my telephone interview I was being interviewed for financial Engineer.
They asked more in depth questions about my CV many of which were repeated. The experience I had with one interviewer was very relaxed but they basically told me that the company will be acquired within the next few years ( which in turn means there might not be any future career aspect).
Overall it was a good interview, nothing was too technical but the real killer was the aptitude test at the end. You were given exactly an hour, and not a minute over, and the questions were completely different from any I have had before.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at First Derivatives (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Oct 2017
Interview
it was relaxed and the people were really friendly. I heard back quickly after applying about being invited to an interview. I had to do a logic test which was a series of flowcharts after my interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at First Derivatives (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Nov 2016
Interview
Interview held at Queen's University Belfast and contained 2 face-to-face interviews along with a short logic test (40 minutes long). Interviewers were very friendly and did a good job at making the interview more like a conversation by expanding details that were mentioned in the answer.

I applied online. I interviewed at First Derivatives (Newry, Northern Ireland) in Apr 2015
Interview
After online application, invited to one day assessment centre at Newry Headquarters.
This consisted of logic tests, group exercise and two one-to-one interviews.
Group exercise was very relaxed and involved discussion and decision making in a group with two or three other applicants.
The interviews were quite straightforward, standard questions for a placement position.
Everyone seemed reasonably friendly and overall the experience was positive.
