I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, IN) in Jun 2018
Interview
Initially contacted by the potential hiring manager for a brief phone interview lasting around 20 minutes. Primarily focused on queries regarding reason for interest in the position and whether I understood the expectations of the position. Then spent a few minutes describing the vision for the department and the position.
This was followed by an active engagement over 3 weeks where calls included HR and another leader.
Was invited for an in-person interview. Excellent candidate experience on site. Dedicated interview space and full wifi access, facilities, etc. Interview lasted most of a day and was with department heads, hiring manager, peers, and potential reports.
The interview was primarily conversational with some pointed questions aimed (I suspect) at set questions the interviewees would have to answer in their debriefing. Overall, everyone seemed prepared and willing to engage in healthy bidirectional Q&A.
After interview, received personalized thank yous from the interviewees (a nice touch).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"Tell me about a time..." (this is a common question and includes a host of variations on the question. This is probably the single most important question to be prepared to answer).
"Why do you want to be involved in this work?"
"What values drive you professionally?"
"What makes you want to work at Lilly?"
"What questions do you have for me about the role, Lilly, pharma?"
I applied through other source. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, IN) in Jul 2016
Interview
I was first contacted for a phone screen with the supervisor, then with two additional team members. Shortly afterwards, I was invited for an in-person interview which was well-organized. Everyone I spoke with was friendly but asked serious questions. People replied to my post-interview emails. Quick decision and what I considered a good offer.

Question 1
Usual questions about why I would be good at the job, what are my weaknesses, and also what I was hoping to gain in this job.
