I have been working at Eli Lilly and Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Giving the company the benefit of the doubt I can imagine that all the cons below can be solved in the process of establishing the department better, since it only moved to Cork in 2018. - The company is trying to create a feeling of coorparate identity which is nice from time to time. - Friendly environment for LGBT+ people, multicultural diversity and right now there are many more women in manager positions of... the department than men.

    Cons

    - The Trial Capabilities Center is new and there are many processes to be improved and streamlined. Processes change regularly and not always in a good way, resulting in work that often feels unnecessary. And still the management expects best results from the employees. - Often you have the feeling management is not covering your back. - High workload and no compensation for it. - The manager also struggle to... handle their own workload.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the processes and give the employees the right tools to do their job right. Also quit the latent blame game that is present.

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Absolutely none. At a push the optional health insurance.

    Cons

Truly dreadful company to work for. Poor planning, poor location, poor atmosphere, made out to be some young vibrant office but is actually the same as anywhere else with management playing games. Inedible canteen food, sub standard prefabs provided while the new building was being constructed, which could not accommodate the number of employees they already knew they had/expected. Management obfuscated plans,... offered permanent contracts to an entire team and made the team redundant before the probation period finished. Abysmal remote management, should not have been in a management role, could not provide any direction to the team. Low salaries, exasperating and misleading conversations with HR. Could not recommend in any capacity.

    Advice to Management

Improve salaries, allow work from home and hot desking which would alleviate parking and desk space issues as well as offering a sliver of flexibility to employees. It's 2019, there is no good reason to ban this instead of keeping up with the real world especially when most of the office has to start around 7am due to bottleneck traffic.

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people, the benefits, the office

    Cons

Some Senior managers do not treat their employees well. If they don’t like you, you can forget about progressing even if you have better skills than them! Managers are selected based on if they are liked by their senior manager. Senior managers manage with fear. People are afraid to speak up because they are afraid. All middle managers (M1) competing for approval of their senior manager. Bullying and backstabbing is... rife. A toxic environment. A horrible place to work and will certainly have a negative impact your mental health.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the senior managers. Don’t just promote the values- live and breath them. Promote based on performance

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Immediate Team was very helpful and welcoming. All seemed United in giving out about how bad things had got. -working hours, for the most part were very flexible unless u had to work a different shift once in a while.

    Cons

    - A "culture" or performance and promotion built on who you got on with and how you played the game rather than the job you did . - manager constantly tried to say I wasn't ready for promotion even though I did the work of two pay grades above me. when I left someone 2 pay grades above me was hired to do my job.

    Advice to Management

I don't think they review Glassdoor , Eli Lilly is a global company, but the CORK GBS has a cancer at it's core driven by pride and image rather than sorting out it's problems.

I have been working at Eli Lilly and Company

    Pros

Free parking International environment Lots of (unacknowledged) talents

    Cons

New flexitime recently introduced made management more obsessed with checking the number of people physically in the building. This company is a champion at finding complex solutions to simple problems. Analysts are forced to play Project management roles and it is likely that there will be "projects" even on how to reach the loo to and from your workstation! Promotions are dependent on your manager putting you on... their "emerge programme ", conditions being a yes man and never provide negative feedback. All in all, not bad if you love all the above.

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - great team culture - great office culture - challenging work, personal development and great mentorship - a lot of great managers - great canteen and office

    Cons

    - low to average salary, benefits (shares/pension/bonus/relocation bonus) only after 2+ years - only basic health insurance - encouragement of people to come to work sick, in particular in probation, which leads to continous spread of colds - needed to provide 3 reference letters, but it is Lilly's policy not to provide any reference letter themselves - overhours are not paid/reimbursed, but commitment to... projects and patient safety leads to heavy extra hours - at the moment a high turnover rate in clinical trials

    Pros

Flexible working hour, canteen on site, modern building.

    Cons

Management inadequate. Opportunities for career are only for Irish females. Promotions are given based on friendship. The environment is poorly motivating.

    Advice to Management
