Application
I interviewed at AstraZeneca (Gothenburg, Västra Götaland)
Interview
Interview with hiring manager, then a whole day of online interviews: experience, technical and value, finally on-site visit. The first call felt stand-offish, the full day was an overkill, the on-site felt like they have already settled on a different candidate but decided to waste my time anyway. Got promised a decision in a couple of days and got ghosted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe situation from your past reflecting on company values using STAR model.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AstraZeneca (Cambridge, England)
Interview
I applied online. Firstly I was invited by automatic response to complete a personality test (Pymetrics). Around 2 weeks after, I was invited for a short 20 min video meeting with 2 Hiring Managers to quickly discuss how my background fits the role. The next step was 2 h long interview divided into 3 parts - 20 min presentation about my previous work, 10 min discussion, 45 min behavioural interview and 45 min technical interview. I was assessed by Senior Scientists within the department where I applied. Next was a 5 min call with HR to discuss salary desires and other logistics. 2 weeks later, I received an email to inform me they had decided on another candidate.
The very friendly, efficient, structured and straightforward interview process, so far one of the best I had. Though I, sadly, did not get the job, the entire experience was very respectful, meaningful, and pleasant.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioural questions were only several and focused on their core values. They sent me the PDF sheet with those before the interview with instructions on how to structure my responses.
Technical questions were related to the basics of the field I interviewed for and more complex small case studies.
3 interviews. First 30 minutes, second 1 h + home exercise. And 3rd interview was about company values. In the end, I didn't get the position with the explanation that others have better scientific qualifications.
