    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The legacy of being people-centric still prevails, although for how long is questionable

    Cons

IT is being heavily centrered on India now and core competencies are being moved away from the hub countries. The new organisation is struggling to understand the new operating model

    Advice to Management

work life balance is being seriuosly eroded. A stressed workforce does not give positive outcomes !

    Pros

Lots of responsibility, interesting projects and a sense of an improving company culture. Very good base package plus benefits, flexible working.

    Cons

Hard work, sometimes stressful. A stronger emphasis on training would be preferred. Sometimes there are disparities between different department perks (such as whether you can fly business class).

I have been working at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice environment, not a lot of pressure, good life-work balance, managers stay out of your way as long as you do your job well

    Cons

Too much politics. Not a clear science ladder. Promoting mainly women to reach a 50% equality (which makes it very discriminating). Too many people with fuzzy objectives like "improving culture"

    Advice to Management

Stablish a true scientific ladder based on science and merits. Set up clear criteria for promotions, increase transparency regarding salaries and rewards

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Large company
Extremely talented individuals if network and find them

    Cons

    High management turnover
    Extremely high upper management turnover
    Poor product launch skills
Consistently not communicating and/or delivering on nationally communicated promises.

    Advice to Management

Spearhead a solid management development department as the majority of my direct managers (7 in 10+ years) had poor skills and very high opinions of self. Management should not be an opportunity to remind your sales people how good you thought that you were when you were a sales representative, but a chance to be a true leader, inspire, and develop.

    focus on individual development
great mentors/approachable staff from various Business Units

    Cons

    slow to change
    risk averse
simplification/innovation is a buzz word without many walking the talk
few opportunities within AZ unless you are mobile/at HQ
