What are pay raises like at EY?

Chill management can't offset low pay and poor support

      Data engineer
      Former employee
      Athens, Athens, Attica
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Most of the time you do nothing,Most of the management is chill.

      Cons

Not relevant work, some PMs shouldn't be there, no one is going to help you especially at the beginning, there are times that you are going to work on 3 different projects at the same time, they DON'T PAY YOU ENOUGH, the HR is non-existent, in order for you to get a raise you should work like a slave, extra overtime with no pay.

      Stable place to work

Good Compensation, Tough Hours post COVID

      Manager, technology risk
      Former employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

-Great People! I was there for over 6 years because I loved the people there. This includes leadership and coworkers. Like every workplace, there's going to be some people you don't mesh well with, but overall, I appreciated the people -Great Compensation and benefits! EY offers 2 week long "breaks" for the summer and winter, along with a lot of great benefits like fitness funds, Well Hub, and really competitive pay + annual pay increase structure. I could see how staying at EY long term would help set you and your family up financially long term.

      Cons

-Difficulties moving between groups and within EY. This is something I did not anticipate when I first joined, but it's not the easiest place to move around between groups. Not only do you need to build a reputation between teams and groups, you also need to make sure your project start/end timelines align, which makes this really difficult. -I do feel that everyone, post COVID, seemed really stressed and overworked, including myself. Along with many others, I felt like I was constantly working, and it seemed like the Senior, Manager and SM classes were spread too thin. I don't know all the inner workings, so I can't propose a solution, but I can say that this is one of the primary reasons I resigned from EY.

      Pros

Working in audit has been a highly satisfying experience. The role offers continuous opportunities for learning and growth, with a clear path for salary pay increases each year, which is a great motivator. Promotions are attainable with hard work and dedication, and the firm provides regular feedback and coaching to help employees improve their skills. One of the best aspects of the job is the exposure to various business matters, allowing me to develop a broader understanding of different industries. Regular discussions with clients offer insight into their operations, further enhancing my knowledge and professional network. Additionally, the work environment is supportive and collaborative, which makes it a pleasant place to work and grow in my career. Overall, I feel satisfied with the opportunities and rewards that come with the role in audit.
