Melbourne WGA - Redundancies & Toxicity

Pros

Really lovely people across the business, unfortunately many are bullied out or fired

Cons

The Melbourne arm of the business has just undergone their second round of redundancies in the past year, third if you count the 'restructure' where they quiet fired a bunch of people. As much as they'd like to shirk responsibility, this sinking ship is due in large part to upper management's terrible decision-making and treatment of staff. Meanwhile, I've seen far too many colleagues burnt out, worn down, some reaching breaking point with meltdowns or worse. The Melbourne office's approach to mental health is neglectful at best.

Pros

Being able to be promoted quickly especially even when lacking technical skills right for the level as long as you are mates to the bosses.

Cons

Lack of transparency in management even for a small business. Worryingly lack of professional integrity and honesty. They chase after the client's money much more than wanting to do the right thing.

WGA Melbourne Office – A Risk for Talented Professionals

Pros

The company has many genuinely kind and supportive people, but unfortunately, a number of talented and great employees end up leaving due to workplace bullying or being dismissed and pushed out.

Cons

The Melbourne branch has undergone two and potentially more redundancy rounds within 6 months, if you count the “restructure” that quietly forced several people out. These issues appear rooted in poor leadership decisions and a disregard for staff wellbeing. I’ve seen talented colleagues burn out, become demoralised, and in some cases reach breaking point. The office’s handling of mental health concerns is, at best, neglectful.
