Pros

I have been working here two years. Two Cats is a great work environment, the president of the company really creates an environment that inspires creativity. It truly feels like family here! Opportunities to grow. I appreciate the quality of programming Two Cats produces here.

Pros

I love working at Two Cats for many reasons. The first is that I am surrounded by incredibly talented people. I learn something new every day and am always faced with exciting challenges. The second reason I love this job is for the work environment. They have created a really fun environment to be in. The office is casual (it feels like an apartment!) with couches and bean bags. It has a great vibe and definitely makes you want to come to work every day. The owner is also really nice and supportive. They are so fun to work with and make every day enjoyable. The last reason I’ll list (although I could honestly keep going) is that working for Two Cats Productions is a once in a life time opportunity. With the small team and supportive environment, you really feel your value for the company. To me, the biggest motivation at work is to know that what I am doing is not only appreciated but is adding to the overall goal of the project/team/Company. Everyone at Two Cats plays an important role and its amazing to watch everything come together on the various projects we are working on.

Cons

I have nothing to report!

Pros

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Europe and the Middle East meeting and interviewing scholars, activists and every-day people people on all sides of a controversial topic. Trying to figure out the best way to tell the story in historical context, with all of the complexities addressed, really helped me grow as a producer. I was an AP at a network, would have taken me a few more years to become a Producer, but the EP at Two Cats is willing to take risks and hand over a great deal of responsibility and faith if you are smart and willing to work hard. I was treated as a production equal even though I'd only had about 6 years of experience at the time. This job gave me a fast track to learning about fundraising and all aspects of documentary film production, plus it was a travel adventure I'll never forget. EP is extremely smart and knowledgable on many topics. EP has strong sense of ethics and knows public television, news and documentary best practices inside and out. Also has so many contacts in the media world and was very generous with making introductions and including me in meetings I wouldn't have had access to at a larger company. Made great friends in the office, very close knit and friendly group of people when I was there and I'm still friends with some of my co-workers.

Cons

It’s a small company and the budget is limited, you have to be prepared for long hours and wearing a lot of hats. Have to like and not be allergic to cats.
