Poor Management and Unprofessional Treatment of Employees
Pros
I want to be completely transparent about my experience with this company. Everything I'm sharing here is factual and based on my direct experience. For your own protection, please carefully read this review before making any decisions. I strongly advise against trusting the claims made by the so-called founder and recommend avoiding this company entirely.
Cons
Management & Leadership Style: The Founder/CEO demonstrates highly unprofessional and authoritarian behavior throughout daily operations. Employees are required to write formal apology letters for perceived mistakes or actions that displease management, creating an intimidating and demeaning work environment. The leadership approach feels outdated and disrespectful, with the founder treating the office like their personal domain and employees as subordinates rather than professional colleagues. There is a complete absence of modern management practices, proper feedback systems, or respectful communication channels. Job Role Misrepresentation: The position was advertised as "Management Trainee," suggesting career development and leadership training opportunities. However, the actual responsibilities involve extensive personal assistant duties that have no connection to management development. Daily tasks include ordering office supplies like water, making restaurant reservations for the founder, purchasing personal clothing items, and handling various personal errands. This misrepresentation of job duties creates unrealistic expectations and provides zero professional growth or skill development relevant to management roles. Organizational Structure Problems: The company operates with minimal staff and lacks any proper management hierarchy or organizational structure. This understaffing creates operational chaos where processes are unclear, responsibilities overlap confusingly, and employees must navigate daily tasks without proper guidance or support systems. The absence of middle management or department heads means all decisions flow through one person, creating bottlenecks and inefficiencies that impact everyone's ability to perform their work effectively. Compensation & Benefits Issues: The benefits package is significantly below Hong Kong employment standards. There is no double pay provision, which is commonly expected in local employment packages. Most concerning are the frequent delays in mandatory MPF (Mandatory Provident Fund) contributions, which violates legal requirements and potentially puts employees' retirement savings at risk. The salary management is handled personally by the founder, leading to inconsistent and unreliable payment processes. Working Conditions & Requirements: Working conditions include undisclosed expectations that were not properly communicated during the hiring process. While the contract mentioned Saturday work once per month, the actual requirements and workplace demands often extend beyond what was initially agreed upon. The work environment lacks professional standards and creates additional stress through unclear policies and inconsistent enforcement of rules.
