Pros

To be honest there wasnt much about this job that i would consider a pro. All shifts were four hours so i guess you could do more with your day?!

Cons

in contrast to the pros in my opinion there were a lot of cons. The shop for one was never busy. I found myself bored quite a lot of the time. They put a lot of unnecessary pressure on the sales assistants for example every customer must be turned into a sale. If this is not the case their must be a reason why. They also try to turn you into the assistants everyone hates for example having to tell the customer that looks fantastic when in reality they look horrendous! The uniform situation is really a joke. If you work 12 hours or under you are only entitled to 2 free pieces. All clothing worn must be from Promod. They make you buy new season stock (about 7 seasons a year) so that customers can see you in it but with only 30% off and the clothes being a little overpriced its just ridiculous especially if you like me would never buy their clothes normally!

Pros

The pros of working in Promod are that you get a free uniform after each stock take, and the number of items that you can get for free depends on the duration of time you have spent working in the shop. The job is not difficult, most of the customers are quite nice and are happy to take your advice on outfit choices and sizes. It is a small store so you can move up the ladder of responsibility quite quickly. You can usually get time off when you need to. Management is friendly and helpful.

Cons

The Irish store has to answer to the French head office. This can be quite frustrating when you have to ring France for authorisation or approval on certain aspects of merchandising and store promotions. There can be problems with stock control, the French office sometimes send too much of one item that is not selling well. The store is a franchise, so sometimes the wants and needs of the franchise owners and of Promod contradict one another. It takes a long time to get a salary increase.
