Pros

Pays on time. Offers 401k and other benefits. Coworkers are nice and helpful to me when a new issue occurs since I've been there only two months now. Scheduled the days and times I requested.

Cons

Some of the tests administered have had consistent software problems, but the companies who made them claim it's "too expensive" to fix when they're the ones who let that slide through the stacks and why it's expensive to fix now. I was told not to reach out to those companies and that they knew about it already, so I researched it online then and this is public info. There was no warning about this when I started, so I was irritated about that, and found out online they knew about the specific issue in reference as early as 2023 and chose to do nothing about it. Having to look at a sad or panicking student when their exam crashes in the middle or at the end, I HATE THAT. Also, this creates more work for TCA because now they have to create a CPR every single time that happens and for restarting the exam. Turns out the CPRs are only for when the candidates call to reschedule the test or make a complaint to verify and nothing to do with getting the original software/other problems resolved like I thought when I started the job. I told them to analyze the reports with the CPRs to see the common issues and fix it so we can stop making CPRs everyday for the same problems! So, this plans to go on forever or until a new version of the exam is released, which if they're using the same individuals it might have the same programming or coding problems with it as the last version. We have gone through three managers in the two months I've been there. The first one moved, but the other two left because of issues I won't publicly list. It sure was 'fun' for me to train someone how to do my job since they didn't do an internal hire, not get paid more for it, then have that manager leave after like three weeks. I have had to make wage claims with the state about us not getting lunches and breaks. I recently made another wage claim and then an OSHA complaint because they do not have the approved first aid kit or supplies even though I had asked those other two managers to purchase it already since they knew how to get reimbursed. Then, last week, I got fed up and used my own money to buy the supplies and make the kit, but the company won't reimburse for these items so now I'm just going to take my stuff back and they'll have nothing once again. I provided reciepts and everything and offered to take pictures of all of the items, but still it was denied because, "I didn't use the correct store." OKAY, THEN WHY CAN'T THEY BUY THE KIT FROM THE 'CORRECT STORE' AND SHIP IT THERE SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING?! I am not in a management role that purchases stuff for the store and we don't have one at all now to do that! The OSHA complaint was because they don't have a replacement one, either, otherwise I wouldn't mind bringing my own supplies home in the slightest, but denying to have something in order to have nothing instead is a pretty bad idea. There were other stationary items in there for staff, too, which they liked, that I didn't ask for reimbursement for. The TCA role is a lot of work for such little money. Then, we often don't have a receptionist either so one of the TCAs are expected to do this in addition to the lab they're already working at. As of the other day, I started declining to do the receptionist desk while working at a lab at the same time. I am not paid more for doing the jobs of two people. Then, they have secret shoppers come who only examine one day instead of doing a three time point series study to be able to determine causation. While I was working reception desk when I started, a management type worker told me in front of a large line of test takers that I was going to fail the audit and lose my job while not jumping in to provide assistance or training. They appologized later about that, at least, but I was barely trained on that station and trying to help because they had nobody else. Also, I reviewed the previous audit reports and asked why they are researching only independent variables again and no notes on confounding factors about conditions under which the results were obtained. Nobody really said anything that time, LOL. To me, it's not surprising if we score the worst if we have the least amount of staff or newer staff than all of the other stores. It was like they tried throwing it down and I threw it back up since they're managing the people who are being audited. I have learned over time what all rules are for the testers, then staff look out for each other too if one makes it through with a baseball cap or watch or something.
