Pros

I personally think that it is a great place to work, having worked for companies in the past who don’t care about their staff, quality or have any integrity whatsoever, PowerON sticks to their values and support their staff with personal development too which I think is unique. PowerON is also generous with their perks and care about their staff’s mental health and wellbeing. You are encouraged to learn, get involved in conversations, offer your thoughts and opinions and provide feedback at any time. You are not micro managed at PowerON, there are elements of trust between you and your manager so if, like me you get on with your work there are no questions asked. Everyone is really helpful and approachable, just be honest and work to the best of your ability and you will do well.

Cons

You need to be able to work on your own if you are working from home and can use your initiative when it comes to getting your work completed and when it comes to learning, you might not get a response straight away from colleagues so you need to be confident enough to go ask someone else. It’s up to you how you manage your day in this department. You also need to agree with the culture of the company, you will not do well if you are not willing to learn and engage in meetings. PowerON is a small company so you are likely to deal with lots of people with different job roles, like the CEO or CIO, if you find this daunting then maybe this isn’t the company for you.

Sinking ship...

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn new skills and the training provided is generally good (depending on who is delivering it)

Cons

Where to start.... The CEO is far too involved in the daily operations, given his temperament and lack of people skills. Unfortunately the Management team isn't much better as they will generally just agree with the CEO out of fear of repercussions and will often punish or berate anyone who dears to question them.

Hi, Thank you for providing this feedback - we're happy to hear that you've had opportunities to learn new skills and generally enjoyed the training you've received so far. It's disappointing to hear how you feel about your experience with our CEO and the management team as we take the engagement of our team incredibly seriously. We are surprised by your feedback as we have a core cultural style of support and enable rather than command and control, which comes directly from the CEO and the rest of the management team. We actively encourage all team members to question decisions and voice opinions of what could be done differently and better, as we recognise that we can all grow from being open to feedback and taking learning from the experiences and viewpoints from everyone around us. With that said, although this feedback is particularly surprising to us, we regularly focus on team feedback - as you are an existing team member we would encourage you to participate in the anonymous internal feedback opportunities we have available. If you share examples or details then the management team can review this and look to see where changes could be made. Kind regards, Anna Edmondson Chief People Officer
