Safety was a major concern during the entirety of my time at Phoenix. The front doors remained unlocked once the drivers left for their morning routes, leaving the building with HIPPA protected information left unsecured. Clients and would arrive prior to any staff at the facility and be left alone for unknown amounts of time, since the door was left unlocked. I brought this issue up multiple times to multiple people in leadership and nothing was done about it. There were no cameras, security, or any safety measures taken EVER. Multiple staff members have been verbally or sexually harassed by clients and leadership does nothing but sweep it under the rug and allow the clients to remain in treatment with no consequences. Clients often brought marijuana or other drugs to program and staff barely did a thing. The facility often reeked of marijuana. Multiple staff members have been caught being under the influence of marijuana there throughout my time. Again, leadership does nothing. Ethics was not a thing for leadership. They recently appointed a new executive director that has no clinical experience. Prior to being promoted, they served as the Director of Operations overseeing day to day facility management and HR duties. In fact, when the director prior to them was there, they were getting in trouble for butting into clinical decisions, but are now somehow qualified to oversee a full clinical staff. Group sizes were above the max allowance for state and license regulations. They forced interns to runs groups or do intakes without any prior experience and they did not provide training. They made staff and still continue to make staff complete intakes on individuals with substance use the same day as intake. I could go on with more examples but it would take too long.
