Rip off company

Pros

I can't think of any pros

Cons

Avoid working for One Motion Logistics at any depot, they completely rip you off from the start. The vans are based in Wantage of which you have to go collect it yourself in your own personal time. The workload is too much for each driver after they got rid of too many drivers. Now for the part of repairs which are carried out by One Motion Auto Services in Wantage area. My van had a few tree scratches you get when driving in countryside every day and hub caps missing. The price they charged me was through the roof, we are talking over £2000!! How they live with themselves charging working people that is unreal. A company and management with no conscious.

Pros

Ummm........can't actually think of any to be honest. Total let down of a company compared to what's described in the induction.

Cons

Have to work 6 weeks before receiving any money. If you submit your invoice wrong you won't know until the week the payment is due and then when you re-submit it you will then have to wait even longer for your money. You don't know when you are starting each day so if messes your sleep pattern as you don't know until the morning when they want you in. Terrible organisation in the depot as to loading your van from the locations in the depot. If you leave the company they will hold your money for up to 90 days, however legal advice tells me this isn't right, I've been left the company now 2 months and haven't received my last 3 weeks money yet, despite submitting my invoices on time. Have to travel from Southampton to Oxford just to get a tyre changed when it's worn, using your own fuel cost, what a joke. Avoid this company like the plague and one day Amazon will do something about them.

One Motion Logistics Response

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. Firstly all contractors are paid net 30 days from invoice submission, these are standard business to business terms across the industry and are made very clear to all contractors right from the onset before any contracts are signed. Each site has a specific wave time everyday, this is dictated by Amazon and One Motion have absolutely no control over this and although there aim is to keep this time the same every day there are sometimes variations as a result of many variables which are common place across the entire courier industry. We at One Motion do our best to inform contractors of any delays as early as possible to avoid them arriving at the delivery station earlier than is required. Again One Motion has no control over the specific setup of the loading location at the depot as the sites themselves are owned and managed by Amazon logistics. It appears that many of your grievances are with aspects of the job that are stipulated by Amazon yet you have placed the blame with One Motion? Obviously without knowing specifics i am unable to comment on any claims of withheld money, however if your hire vehicle was returned with damage then indeed your payments may have been withheld to cover the costs involved with repairing this vehicle.

Pros

There are NO PROS to working for this company unless you want to be shafted

Cons

Do NOT ever work for this company. You will be ripped off from start to finish they promise you the world & you do NOT get any of it. Including your hard earned money. You have to work for 5 weeks not 4 as stated in the interview before getting paid. You have to pay for your own fuel for that 5 weeks which is then paid back to you on a weekly basis. The pay when it does reach you is either wrong or days late & you have to keep on at them to actually get the money they owe you. They over charge for rental on their vans underpay for fuel & expect the vans to be kept without a single scratch or dent because if there is you will pay well over the odds to have it repaired, please bear in mind that some of the routes you get are in the countryside & down very small lanes! The equipment they expect you to work with is shocking & if it fails you are expected to use your own GPS equipment to deliver the parcels or you don't get paid & can be dismissed. The management are worse than useless that's if you can even contact them & the POCs o site are mostly shocking if they are EVER on site to start with. At the interview you will be promised a POC on site every day from start to finish this is absolute bull 9 out of 10 days they will NOT be there or don't come in until later or go home early. At the interview you are also told you can earn a bonus by making sure your deliveries are correct to instructions but they don't mention the fact that EVERYONE on the team has to do this for anyone to get BONUS! You are also told at interview there will be support available every day & that you will be finished by 3-4pm at the latest every day this is all untrue. If you have support you are expected to pay for it & you are lucky if you get home by 10pm most nights which equates to 13-14 hours of work everyday. If you are unlucky enough to be involved in an accident just DONT go to their insurance company. I know I am NOT the only person to have these issues with this company & that's just in the Depot I worked in.
