The new ownership ruined the business and the well known name Normandy Optical. The only happy employee I came across, was the owner, Dr. Sesto. Probably because he enjoys belittling his employees more than he does growing his business. I have never seen a turn around rate like Normandy has. I would say about 75% of their staff has little to no background in optical. They hire anyone and claim they will train you, but they’ll ignore you when you ask for help and then talk about you behind your back. This didn’t happen to me personally, but as the new person…. It was disgusting how much drama and making fun of people behind their backs was happening. So much drama, that there was a rumor going around that one of the doctors was drinking on St. Patrick’s day while doing eye exams. Was the rumor true? I don’t know, but I wouldn’t put it past him or their unprofessionalism. There is no morale at this company. I’m not a bitter, former employee, even though it sounds that way. I just hope to save someone who might be considering a position here and encourage them to look elsewhere.
