Not for me

Pros

My time here was decent. Everyone was friendly and passionate about helping their clients. This agency works hard for its clients and has established a good reputation based on that. It is successful for a reason.

Cons

There's too many dumpster fires and sometimes it is obvious to the client. The obvious answer is to slow down business as to not to overwhelm the team but for some reason, that's not an option. SOPs are nonexistent. There were also some issues between leadership and team members of ethnic descent that were unsavory. It is best to hire based on talent, not appearances or classifications. I would suggest a blind hiring process. I also did not have much of a personal life the entire time I worked here.

Pros

The agency director is a true creative. She can meet with a potential client, quickly assess their status, needs and opportunities and drop a bunch of relevant ideas on the table. If you're starting out in this business, being in on meetings is an education. The culture is supportive and the staff are very talented. Agency leadership in general is devoted to best practices and dedicated to working in the most agile and efficient framework. Leadership is also understanding and accommodating to needs outside the workplace. The founder provides a significant level of pro bono and consulting to nonprofits and fundraising agents in the community at large. Miranda Creative is often unrecognized for this, because the agency doesn't try to profit from its community-building work. Nonetheless, this is a business that helps people, Even when it's not getting paid.

Cons

The director is used to having to do everything on her own, which speaks to her strengths and vision as an entrepreneur. There needs to be a mid-level management structure in place that enables her to step back and trust her people. The agency is pursuing both this and enhanced audience development tools and strategies for clients.

Pros

The management at Miranda Creative tries to establish a positive culture by providing benefits. There is a work-from-home option since COVID.

Cons

Huge client workload with expectations to be an independent contributor without appropriate mentoring or leadership.
