A company lacking empathy

Pros

- The team that is employed are some of the most committed and loyal employees I have worked with, they put a lot of personal and extra time into their work, making sure customers are satisfied with products they are purchasing. They work without complaint and it would definitely help if the management could recognize the efforts they have put in. - The ‘freedom’ in exploring ideas and creatives here is a double edged sword where it also shows the upper management’s lack of foresight and direction of the company’s future.

Cons

- It feels like managers of respective departments in MANSA have no prior experience in the department/profession — it does not necessarily mean they will be bad managers, but having a good understanding or trusting of the work your employees are doing should be important. Being a manager is about giving support to your team and not undermining the efforts that they have put in - While you are given the freedom to propose and be creative in the initial stages of work, as said in the pros - freedom to explore is a double edged sword as your work is then nitpicked and micromanaged as employees are left trying to figure out what the bosses want to see instead of what works. - While employees of the company are all treated like friends where the company is perceived as a flat hierarchy, managers who are ultimately overseeing their team come across as insensitive or discourteous. - Managers fail to communicate their needs properly but expect flawless results. Miscommunication and contradictory instructions are common, leaving employees confused. - Low pay and little benefits - increments are hard to come by and are often used as leverage for employees to work harder - but without quantifiable KPIs. There are no health and employee benefits. - Management is aware of the fact that some employees are overworked and burnt out but little is done despite being assured that the issue would be addressed. A once a year company cohesion is not the solution to fix company morale. - The cctv in the office makes for an uncomfortable working experience. - In summary, the management at MANSA demands high levels of commitment but fails to provide adequate compensation or support.
