Pros

Remote working, good pension. Some great people and still patches of excellence in some services.

Cons

The writing was on the wall with the acquisition by GSAM but it’s taken two or three years for the cyber part of the business to truly break. There’s little to no understanding of the cyber market from UK sales management. Decisions are made randomly and with minimal justification or explanation. The sales organisation has been lumped together. Cyber salespeople are meant to have a shared outlook (and compensation) to those selling inspection services. The changes made to the commission scheme, without any consultation, were a bad joke. The managed services offering is embarrassing and has been for a long time. There doesn’t appear to be a plan to improve it or to address how the market has changed. Everything (however meaningless or trivial) is now KPI’d with dashboards all over the shop - unfortunately they’re all flashing red. The cyber part of the business has totally lost focus and become a really poor environment to work in.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re pleased you recognise the benefits of our flexible working approach and the dedication of many colleagues across the business. We’re sorry to hear about your experience within Cyber. We recognise that periods of change following an acquisition can be challenging, We’ve recently welcomed a new Managing Director for Cybersecurity, whose experience and leadership are already making a positive impact, with encouraging feedback from the team. Strengthening our market focus, refining our services, and improving how we engage and support our people are key priorities. We wish you all the best in your next chapter and thank you again for sharing your feedback.

Pros

Mostly remote working. Good work/life balance.

Cons

My advice is not to see LRQA as your next employment. You will feel despondent, not supported, depressed, undervalued. It is a terrible place to work if you are in Cyber Security Sales. Poor Executive Leadership: - Removed the specific 'Cyber Security' Marketing team - Removed the Research & Innovation team - Dramatically altered the incentive plan for the sales team meaning sales team would lose out on thousands of pounds in earnings compared with previous plans Terrible UK Sales Management - No empathy or care for people - Very defensive, not able to see how decisions he makes might affect people - Demotivating - Unfair and unrealistic targets. I received a 60% increase without any clear way of the business supporting me to achieve the number - Reporting to managers who do not understand how the Cyber part of the business works - Implementing one size fits all approach to KPIs despite each service line having very different solutions and customers

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback following your time at LRQA. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling unsupported, undervalued and demotivated. That is not how we want anyone at LRQA to feel. We recognise that the last few years have brought significant organisational change. These changes were intended to improve consistency and clarity across the business. Your feedback highlights areas where we need to continue to improve how we support teams, communicate changes and ensure our leaders are equipped to lead with empathy and understanding. We’re sorry that your experience of local leadership and target setting left you feeling discouraged. We expect our leaders to create an environment where people feel heard, respected and set up for success. Thank you for raising these issues so that we may act on them. We will use feedback like this to inform ongoing leadership development and ensure we are addressing gaps in consistency and support. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and for your contributions during your time at LRQA. We wish you the very best in your next chapter.
