Pros

Discount on shoes and bags.

Cons

Girls on the team pretend to be nice, will completely throw you under the bus. This behaviour is influenced by poor management. You're not praised or paid enough to do the job that is expected of you but are penalised based on managements mood. It's an extremely negative environment to work in. I would highly urge anyone who is looking for a job to allow Kurt Geiger to be your last application as you will find better elsewhere for the same retail working experience.

Pros

The only pro that I can think of is the staff discount, given that you've been made permanent and its after your 3 month probation period.

Cons

Where to start? From the interview until the day I started working for Kurt Geiger in a very well known Dublin city department store, it was the most negative working environments I've ever experienced. The staff turn over Is huge and its no surprise why. Bullying tactics are used by the branch manager and floor managers with constant nit-picking and extremely poor interpersonal relationships with their staff I.e. Not acknowledging staff whatsoever, addressing personal matters with staff on a busy shop floor, sarcastic undertones to any conversation had. Personally I tried to distance myself and buckle down to work from all the bickering and negativity amongst staff and management but that became impossible due to the management constantly being on your back. When high sales are achieved it is not praised, but everyday the branch manager/managers are quick to tell you exactly what you're doing Is not good enough. There are no incentives to do well and as a person who enjoys working in retail, you're enthusiasm quickly fades away. All in all, a very disorganised company whom couldn't care less about staff morale and don't know the meaning of respect earns respect.

Pros

Easy interview and great discount after three months...

Cons

However, a serious level of pressure is applied to management which filters down to sales associates. If you work on a concession you are likely to work alone very often, including busy weekends, even when you have only been employed for a matter of weeks. Can be extremely stressful for such a low wage because these issues then affect the customer and you will be dealing with very disgruntled people daily. They also struggle to keep their staff for these reasons, therefore you will see a high turnover in your time here, which of course means any expertise in the store will not be present!
