Pros

- Great co-workers (you will really need them in this environment). - If you're a gamer, it is fun to be around apps & video games.

Cons

- Turnover, this alone tells you that there is something wrong with this company. No one stays here long. They will either quit/find a new job due to horrible culture or inability to tolerate management any longer. They get fired for unrealistic expectations from management. Or they get laid off for constant changing business focus which means little stability in job security, expectations and job titles. - Poor salary with little to no room for raise. If you are in sales your commission tends to get changed (decreased) after being there a month or two. - No work life balance. You are expected to get there before opening hours and leave well after closing hours without proper lunch/breaks. If you do not eat, sleep & breathe GlobalStep then you aren't working hard enough in the eyes of management. - Treated as less than human by US management. - Office yelling. Management does not see a problem with yelling at employees in front of other employees. This is an extremely hostile environment. -Micromanaged to the extreme. Be prepared to have someone basically looking over your shoulder.

Pros

All other testers and leads are incredibly friendly.

Cons

I highly doubt that the two positive reviews written recently were not written by employees, as I do not understand how anyone could have 0 complaints with so many glaring issues at this company. The main issue with this company is management. They give little to no communication. We find out 2 hours before the end of the day if we are working the next. They have 0 regard or care for their employees and treat them like numbers on a spreadsheet. During a slow preiod of work there were barely any projects going around for testers. During this they continued to hire more staff and gave them priority on the work neglecting their longer term employees and provided 0 communication. Some employees did not work for months. They have also been firing multiple employees without any real reason. Testers have been forced to work in roles they were not trained to do, and then fired for failing to follow that role. Some employees were not even told they were fired, they were just never asked in again, giving 0 communication until they repeatedly asked. This meant that they did not start looking for jobs for a week or two after as they assumed they still had one. Some employees who became assistant leads/leads were not given a promised pay raise for months. Almost all of management have resigned, and the new staff they hired in left after 2 months of working there. This company is a mess and its all the remaining employees talk about now.

Pros

Your fellow testers are the nicest group of people I have ever worked with.

Cons

Everything except from your fellow testers. They lie about their job advisertisements. I am no longer getting called in because I questioned why there are no more social/games nights and the answer was "because I said so". They are getting rid of their most valuable testers and leads as they ask too many questions. Someone got fired as they were not trained to do a leads job but was scheduled to do so. When he declined, they fired him. When you advance to assistant or test leads, they will not pay extra for your promotion, despite saying they will. If management does not like you, don't expect to get called in. Females are treated better as the company apparently needs to even out the diversity. Don't listen/trust any of their testers. Randomised test leads on projects despite certain leads getting more work specifically from another company then put on something else. Lie to clients about certain testers/leads are on training to put them on a different project to suit themselves, not the clients. Compared to other QA companies, the pay is SHOCKING! Like not even living wage, and it is 0 hours.

It’s disappointing to hear that you don’t feel that GlobalStep is a positive place to work. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive and ethical employer, and it is unfortunate that this was not your experience of working with Us. Without knowing more about your particular situation it’s difficult to know what we could have done better as an organisation to support you but we wish you all the best in your future career.
