Clueless Management Structure

Pros

It used to be a great place to work until the current management were put in place in 2015

Cons

Not a people oriented company. Puts more value in commercial management than operations and people. Lacks the understanding to realise that operations is the heartbeat of a company and the people who get things done. Only interested in bottom line, strategic planning is a joke. No innovation

Thank you for your review. We apologise that you felt that commercial management was valued more than the people within the company. The HR team are currently working closely with our board of directors to implement a "people before profit" approach to the business, which has resulted in a large improvement in the benefits that we are able to offer our employees. We also ask our employees to take part in an employee engagement survey every other year which allows us to get some great ideas from our employees on how we can make them happier. The 2017 survey resulted in increased benefits such as enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave and the brand new holiday buy back scheme.

Pros

While Exertis presents itself as a reputable company, my experience was quite the opposite, there no Pros.

Cons

I had the misfortune of working at Exertis Ireland, and it was by far the worst experience of my entire professional life. The management is completely incapable of handling difficult situations and consistently chooses sides without hearing both perspectives. In my case, a colleague was being blatantly abusive, and instead of addressing the issue, I was humiliated and dismissed. Despite repeatedly bringing up the bullying behavior, my concerns were ignored, and this colleague seemed to be favored by the company. I suffered a burnout that lasted for 5 months, crying every day and losing all interest in my work. My manager gaslighted me constantly, undermining everything I said, which further eroded my confidence and well-being. I never had the chance to showcase my skills or grow in my role. The work environment was toxic, with several colleagues contributing to the negativity. The turnover at Exertis is alarmingly high—almost everyone who started with me has since left, which speaks volumes about the company culture. I worked extra hours consistently but was never recognized for my efforts. The overall lack of support and recognition made it impossible to thrive, and I eventually became physically and mentally ill from the stress. In summary, Exertis was a deeply toxic environment that severely impacted my mental health. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for a supportive, fair, or professional workplace.

Thank you for submitting a review. I am surprised that you feel you are expected to figure things out on your own. We have an award-winning Learning & Development team as well as great, supportive managers across the business so this is disappointing to hear! It would be great if you could reach out to us in HR or L&D to advise of where you feel further training or development is required. Thanks, Susie.
