I was able to work at all levels on projects, and with a wide range of businesses. Particularly liked being able to recommend solutions and ideas to customers. Management are open to new ideas and ways to do things.
Cons
Training isn't very structured. Had to learn a lot 'on the job' which made it chaotic.
Lots of different projects to work on and you get to do the full life cycle, from meeting the customer to supporting them after it goes live
Cons
Not using a recognised PHP framework, just the companies own libraries which takes a while to learn

Just to update, we've been using the Laraval framework in all our PHP development since the end of 2015. We have a more comprehensive training programme in place now to help new recruits get up to speed and productive sooner.
