Pros

Work/Life Balance - Never expected to work ridiculous hours. Tough Mudder. Talent Show. Happy Hours. Morale Events. I never watch the clock while I'm at work. Everyone here is intelligent and hard-working without a political "let me take credit for that" attitude. I've always been trusted to do good work and given the credit for my contributions without feeling cheated or taken advantage of. Hackweeks! Zillow wants me to succeed, so I want us to succeed.

Cons

No dogs allowed! Though our CEO has conveyed a personal wish for dogs, the building won't allow it which is a bummer. Maybe someday if we occupy enough floors!

Thank you so much for the great comments. I am so glad you have found a place to call home, be part of a great team, contributing to our products, working hard and having fun. That's really what it is all about. And, I do have to say that I really enjoy the Hackweeks. It is impressive to see the great product ideas, features and engineering tools that come out of those weeks. As a recently new owner of the most awesome French Bulldog, Milo, I have to agree with you that I wish we could bring our dogs to work. Maybe some day. :-) Keep up the great work, and if you ever want to provide any comments to me directly or ask any questions about our engineer efforts or company, please stop by. - David Beitel, CTO Zillow Group #ZGisaTeamSport

Pros

Very collaborative team, encouraging team members and managers. Great experience overall.

Cons

Because most people work remote, sometimes it can be hard to meet immediately to chat.

Pros

You can make good money here.

Cons

In sales, job can change often. For example: I was making good money and excelling because I am a relationship Sales person. Then they changed it to where you get the sale, and instead of being able to grow that account via that relationship you just broke into, you have to pass it to an account manager and go back to cold/robo calling. You "book" of business you recive to prospect from is a lottery. I received a book of prospects/accounts that most of the were low income, or senior living properties. They don't have a budget and have a line of renter on a waitlist. No way to convince them to spend money on advertising but you still have the same quota.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed perspective. We understand that frequent changes to roles, account ownership and business priorities can have a real impact on relationship-building and the day-to-day experience in sales. We’re glad to hear compensation was a positive part of your time at Zillow, and we appreciate you being candid about where the model and structure felt frustrating. Feedback like yours helps us better understand how these changes are experienced across teams as the business evolves.
