Pros
Starts with the products - customers love VMware's products - one of the best ROI stories for core virtualization that exists in enterprise software space. Great campus/working environment - little quiet but can't beat being in the Stanford Research Park if you are going to work in Silicon Valley. Very good work-life balance - people clear out between 5:00 - 6:00pm - could run naked through campus at 6:00 and don't think you would run into anyone.
Cons
Although we have great technology, our sales and marketing engine does not measure up to the product side of the house. So intently focused on 90 day/quarterly results that little thought is given to how we should be marketing and selling our offerings 2 years down the line. Accountability is lacking in sales groups.
