Pros

Every other department is taking cared of. Some getting paid the same and being in chairs the whole day *cough* *Appliances *cough* that even get bothered when a customer asks them for help and interrupt their associate conversation.

Cons

You have a certain amount of time to pick orders, however... Most orders have to be picked very fast due to the amount that hits the phone(Buy online pick up in store, Deliveries, Special Orders, and Will-Call). This store and most stores I've talked to all have within 4-6 employees. Not enough for the amount of workload. Home depot sets no limits to customers. It could be 2000 bags of concrete or whatever. Sometimes there was pallets so few times was machine work(forklift, reach, etc), but most times were uneven or hand pick heavy items. Everyday after shift, you go home feet sore, back pain (even by following their SOP and Infocus training rutines), exhausted to come back the next day for the same horrible treatment, days off were sleep whole day because of how much stress and pain you had to go to, and still getting paid the same as other departments(maybe 50 cents more compared to new associates). You get written up if you don't get to pick an order that was set for delivery next day or same day before the delivery (doesn't matter how big it is), even if it's 30 minutes before your shift. I knew so many people with shift ending at 5PM that had to work all the way to 1 AM and 12AM because of these issues. At most those associates got a thank you. D94 Is the worst department you can ever work for, not even Amazon puts you in this amount of stress. ALL ASSOCIATES that join D94 either transfer or quit withing 3 months. I was in that department for 1 1/2 years and saw 17 associates either quit or beg to go to another department, even asking doctors to spread their concerns. HORRIBLE!!! Ever since the new addition to same day and next day, there was never a limit set per store.

Pros

The Home Depot has a solid moral compass. They aren't about sacrificing their ethics for the sake of a sale, which I love. They also hire a diverse group of people and give a lot back to the community. They offer a lot of benefits and little treats for their employees. Although they push their associates to meet quota, they're realistic about what can and can't be accomplished.

Cons

Home Depot has two different sides to it. Store associates and those of us considered "store support" who are payed by the vendors but work in the stores 100% of the time. I constantly hear about how store associates are stressed out by management and their hours are being rearranged a lot, cut, and they often are stretched thin due to lack of full staffing. "Store support" associates who do merchandising have it better than those who work in specific departments. However, you never really gain knowledge unless you have the time to look things up and read packaging.
