Pros
Compensation, benefits, ability to learn while you earn and advancement opportunities from within the company are all alluring. Telus recognizes effort and ability, always encouraging to strive for the highest pinnacle, whether at home or at work and rewards and employees for their efforts and accomplishments. I also work at home and the money and pollution not put out by me is tremendous. I wish more employers were able to extend the priviledge of working at home to their employees.
Cons
Time off to balance home with work is difficult to have approved. Vacations have to be booked early in the year and any unbooked days are assigned to ensure everyone gets their time off. Changing these dates once they are booked is extremely difficult and life cannot always be planned at the beginning of the calendar year. Suggestions have been made to allow employees access to switch vacation days with colleagues but no response from management as of yet. If we can trade shifts, why could we not also trade vacation days?
