Pros
Pay is decent, I guess. If you are competitive, like spreadsheets, and are a sociopath, there are many advancement opportunities.
Cons
You are strongly pressured to squeeze your customers for every last penny you can. SO many sales meetings where regional management demands that you do more "price ups". The pricing algorithm sets different prices for different customers in the same region based on how profitable they are for Sysco, which ends up squeezing small restaurants more than anyone. If a customer complains about prices on a certain "emotional" item, we can discount it a bit, but we are expected to make up that loss and then some by pricing up items that the customer is less likely to notice. Exclusive Sysco branded products are pushed, because once a beloved menu item depends on an ingredient you can only get from Sysco, they can charge basically whatever they want for it. In short, if you're a decent human being, look elsewhere.
