Pros

The only pro is that no matter what other job you take up after leaving Sun Life, you will feel good about it.

Cons

Promotions are biased. The Regional VPs are immature and get into this position in their early 30's as other successful managers don't want to take the income drop. They feel threatened by Financial Centre Managers who are much more experienced and qualified by them, and end up trying to get rid of them and replacing them with other young, less qualified managers. The severance package given to these long-serving managers is the provincial minimum at 1 week for every year of service. One has to sue the company to get what you rightfully deserve.

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
