Pros

Result oriented: as long as get the job done, my boss doesn't try to control how I spend my time or micromanage me. Strong learning and development focus: I am provided with many opportunities and resources to learn about different topics and develop myself in my desired career direction Projects and Innovation initiatives: I am encouraged to pursue my own projects in office hours, my ideas are heard and supported Great pay and benefits: The pay is well above average in my area and I have great benefits, including company transportation to and from the office. Flexible hours: I can make adjustments to my schedule without any issues, as long as my colleagues are okay with it. In Product support, there are two different shifts - Day (morning and afternoon) and Late (afternoon and evening), increasing flexibility in this position.

Cons

Organizational size - a few decisions that affect my job come top-down, from people that are very distant from my day to day work. It is very difficult to make decisions for a global organization, as each region will have their own set of variables. Home office: While it may be changing gradually, SAP still allows very limited WFH. Currently we are allowed 4-5 home office days per month. This refers to under normal circunstances. During the COVID-19 pandemic most people are working from home 100% of the time. Legacy technology: working with the SAP ERP system and ABAP can be frustrating to those who want to be on the cutting edge of tech, as these products tend to be slow to catch up with new resources. This is about my current position - there are opportunities to work with data intelligence, blockchain and machine learning in SAP

Pros

The people at SAP are genuinely nice, and the culture is generally supportive. The work-life balance is good to an extent, but when you're busy, you're BUSY. SAP is highly complex so expect to take a year to ramp up.

Cons

Only way to get a high salary is if you're hired externally. They do not reward employees who are loyal to the company. Closed opportunities often have to go through the Compensation Exception Committee, creating uncertainty around earnings. Prepare for constant change, whether that's solutions being removed from your sales bag, account shifts, territory realignments, or changing compensation policies. Quotas can be difficult to attain
