Pros

Young international people, nice office

Cons

I’ve been working as an SDR at PTC for a while now, and I have to say, it’s been a mixed experience. On one hand, the role itself can be rewarding, but on the other hand, there are some significant challenges that make it tough to recommend. One of the biggest issues is the promotion process. Despite all the talk about internal promotions, it feels nearly impossible to actually move up. I’ve seen colleagues who are just as dedicated and hard-working struggle to get recognized. It’s frustrating, especially when you’re putting in the effort. Another challenge is the lack of organization within the teams. It often feels like we’re all working in silos without clear targets. Additionally, the director seems to have no influence over key stakeholders, which leaves us vulnerable in situations like layoffs or other uncertainties. Overall, while there are some positives about being at PTC, the lack of clear pathways for advancement and the disorganized environment make it hard to feel optimistic about long-term growth here. If you’re looking for a role where you can really advance your career, you might want to think twice.

Pros

Great people, customers, products. The culture has improved significantly over the past 5 years or so, and now feels like a relatively modern software company. Exec leadership is very good, Neil is fantastic.

Cons

Mid-level exec leaders, VP level, are still very political. Salaries are way below average.
