Pros
Genuine camaraderie and support from fellow colleagues, flexible work hours (remote), transparency from leadership, excellent benefits especially extended maternity leave, many opportunities for growth and experience in various operating units and roles.
Cons
Limited exposure in project longevity if hired under S&SS as you are placed where the need is and not guaranteed to stay in one project or operating unit for long-term. In a similar vein, you will often need to work under different operating units and studies at the same time, which can sometimes be challenging. Also no PTO as a contingent worker and the process of being converted to permanent takes some time.
