Pros
If I could say one reason to work at macys west, it is the people. Their are not a lot of good managers there but all of my colleagues I have really enjoyed working with. Also, it is a great place to learn because they have a good training program. They also depending at what level you are at you get to travel to LA, NY or even abroad, as a buyer for Macys West. They also do a lot of philanthropy events, which is fun to be a part of a company that remembers to give back. They also had great sample sales only for MW employees.
Cons
The downsides to working at Macys west, is you are either the chosen one and they company loves you or they make up your mind that you aren't gonna cut it and want you out. I have seen this happen first thing to friends of mine, that were really smart . There is a lot of favoritism especially with upper management. The pay is not competitive and really neither is the benefits compared to other retailers in the bay area. Their is not a good work life balence, some managers want you to work overtime but not clock it which is illegal.
