Pros
I have made some really great friends over the years but sadly, we are all searching for new opportunities considering the direction of the company (aka New Walmart). No “pros” left.
Cons
Benefits are changing for the worse, so the main reason we all stuck around through the grueling restructuring process and implementation is no longer valid. Good, long term employees are leaving because they’ve been put in a position where they can no longer support their families due to pay cuts, minimum hours that your are promised are sometimes not met (illegal??), store managers hang their heads in shame holed up in their office while at work because they know they’re in a cushy position while we are out there sweating (can you PLEASE splurge a little and turn the AC on? I’ve nearly fainted from heat exhaustion) trying to make customers satisfied. Meanwhile, corporate has got their heads stuck so far up their you-know-what’s, they’re celebrating (and posting about it for all to see!) make believe milestones that are only achieved by taking away benefits from the coworkers... do they think we are dumb? That we aren’t going to call them out? Don’t even consider advancing in the company now. The position you’re qualified for will go to that manager’s unqualified friend EVERY. TIME. And yes, the coworker ends up training the now unqualified manager on how to do the job they likely applied for. As far as day to day stuff... store stock is so bad that customers think we’re going out of business and they get frustrated because inventory is so painfully inaccurate and yes, they take it out on us constantly (example: system shows hundreds of pieces of a single item in stock yet they are NO WHERE to be found). Tired of being a punching bag for customers AND corporate. It’s simply not right.
