Pros

Insurance is ok, but nothing else

Cons

The location I worked in was very cliquish and high school like. Career growth is non existent unless steering & upper management back your growth. Ikea as a whole tends to reorganize every few years this means reapplying for the job you currently hold depending on what they are restructuring. As for the Risk & Compliance role, this job is a great job for a college student or a retired person. The workload is minimal and once it is complete for the week, you will be expected to walk the store multiple times in a day. While walking the store, you will look for safety issues to correct. However, there will not be many as the other coworkers in the department will be completing walks as well. This job is very repetitive with little room to advance your skills. The scheduling can be better. For example, I would close have a day off and have to Open my next shift. Closing shifts require the department to wait on logistics and other members of management to determine when they are done before leaving. If scheduled to work until 9, plan on being there until after 10. The most frustrating part of working at Ikea is everything is a slow and drawn out process. Concerns are never dealt with they are "being addressed" anything brought up will never receive follow up or an answer. Every department is like that. Also, Ikea does not require people to have any knowledge of their role and promote people that are not ready for the next level.

Pros

Good work environment Pay is good Job keeps you busy

Cons

Lack of communication with leadership and coworkers. Leadership seems to have favorites Schedule takes too long to make Seems that there's people who would like the be full time or part time that are temporary right now aren't getting the positions. Feels like nepotism but maybe I'm wrong. Getting responses like you didn't get the job because you didn't answer your interview questions right just seems unnecessary The amount of drama happening is getting out of hand and leadership doesn't seem to care
