Pros

A lot of virtual positions, so you can manage things independently

Cons

Geico has completely changed. I worked for them for over 9 years. A major shift happened once Todd Combs took over. Profit sharing was taken, benefits reduced, no reward incentives. If you stay proficient you “may” get a bonus. They are now a company where you get paid your hourly and do not complain about it. I was on FMLA for over a year. Once I was off FMLA they were happy to let me go within in 3 months or less due to performance review from when I was on FMLA. I was proficient for the final 6 months and the 3 months after, but during my first 6 months of FMLA I feel a bit short due to the issues putting me on FMLA. Do not work for this company if you are trying to build a career and job security. Many employees and supervisors are also doing unethical things to stay proficient causing people who are compliant and proficient to suffer or even lose their jobs. I highly recommend not working for them.

Pros

Interesting problems to work on. Good benefits. Decent pay.

Cons

Managers will gaslight you and upper leadership is constantly changing, so expect projects you're working on to be thrown out every 6 months. Many people burn out and quit after some time and are never back filled, so you'll be expected to take on their workload. Some of my colleagues were working 80 hour work weeks to keep up with the work load and yet told they were not performing well enough. There also wasn't much diversity.
