Pros

I met some great people while training, Learned a few things (all of which of course in now useless to me) and you can leave within the first 2 weeks without getting charged £20,000 if you are no longer interested, but for me that was the only good things about "working" there.

Cons

Oh where to start... There's so many things wrong with this company. Firstly your graduate scheme shouldn't even be called that. Its more like Job training if anything. Why bother holding an assessment day with interviews when you are going to train graduates how to do interviews and CVs in the first week anyway? The first week is pointless and pretty much a waste of your time. Some staff are really rude to the students and even in my own experience got picked on and got told I would never get a job based on my interview performance (In an extremely rude tone). But then you think if my interview performance was so bad, why accept me in the first place??( you do a phone interview and then 3 interviews and the assessment day) No salary at all during the training period other than for travel expenses up to a certain amount. Now knowing this beforehand was good (as I was able to support myself for the given training period with the aid of my parents) but for anyone else who couldn't, it wouldn't be great now would it? Especially for a student who just graduated and has a student loan to pay back! Finally, they have the ability to throw you out whenever they feel like if they feel that you are "not up to their standard". This is of course after providing very little support in whatever it is you are having trouble with, even if its something like not being able to answer one question in a mock interview... This is something I found extremely shocking especially for a company like this that promotes itself the way it does. Of course this was my experience and was asked to leave soon after despite doing well in everything else... Seriously, who does that? So if you are a graduate looking for a good job with a decent company (that actually pays you a salary), I would strongly advise that you to stay away from FDM Group. There are much better companies out there that will treat you a lot better than the some of the employees (especially the account managers) of FDM group.

Pros

It is a job that pays.

Cons

They will promise you opportunities that don't exist. The company they contract you to will promise you work that you will not be assigned. I was a Java Consultant with a masters degree in Math and certificate in full stack and I was shoved into a manual testing position that required zero coding and constantly dangled automation in front of my face. When I was asked to look at Selenium, I studied it in some of the copious amounts of downtime i had and was reprimanded during the next meeting for 'wasting company time'. I moved from Texas to New Jersey for my first position. After contracts with the company were terminated, I was pulled off my assignment only to be abruptly fired for "lack of geoflexibility" despite willingness to move to several places they do business including NYC and even Denver. There is no accountability from them as the only response they give is "the decision is final". There is no way to appeal a blatant lie. Their company has no integrity and side with business majors over people that know how chemicals and physics and electrical components work just seem like bad life decisions. They will say you can reapply but they won't hire you. They'd full of it at every angle.
