Pros

It's a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Since the employees all own the company together, there is definitely a "team" culture. Everyone wants everyone to succeed and people will go out of their way to help you do just that. Also, senior management is very involved with the company and constant feedback is highly encouraged and taken seriously. Weekly articles from Managing Partner Jim Weddle keep everyone informed on what's going on in the company. Open door policies rule.

Cons

For financial advisors, the philosophy of getting out and doorknocking seems to be very antiquated. Not a lot of travel opportunities if you're into that sort of thing. Also, less than ten people at home office actually have offices.

Pros

- Decent benefits programs. - Teammates who cared about the quality of work they provided and the people they worked with. - Direct superiors who were people of integrity that I respect immensely and wish nothing but the best for.

Cons

- Recent removal of remote work for all associates regardless of how long they had worked remotely previously (13 years in my case). This push to onsite work will damage long term profitability and likely cause a mass exodus of talented associates (if it has not already). - Massive amount of offshore outsourcing that has greatly reduced the quality of work at the home office. - Lack of flexibility regarding work schedules that has severely damaged work-life balance.
