Pros
Some incredible talent with staff set on course for intense redevelopment and discovery. There are many wonderful people in this organisation, and many of them are doing everything they can to reinvent and reboot banking from the inside. If you’re looking for a first job or place to build on your basic banking knowledge, then this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for! Would recommend for grads and someone new to the industry. Also, if you’re terrible at your job, you should be able to find somewhere to hide in this organisation.
Cons
An incredibly top heavy organisation with plans to offshore everything but the vending machines. The long queue for the top, feels more like a slowly grinding treadmill, which only rewards a certain ethnic, gender mix. If you’re male and experienced, you’re likely to die before you’re promoted. Beyond that, you’re likely to be promoted before you receive a pay rise. Sadly, if you stay more than a year, you’ll be forced to watch many great people coming and leaving. This is a hard pill to swallow, whilst some of the longer standing untouchable staff languish in long periods of absenteeism and regularly miss “team” deadlines.
