Pros
Salary.... that was the only good thing but not worth all the stress and problems you have to put up with.
Cons
I was recruited by Dell and left a company I was at for almost 14 years to help change processes and sunset systems and implement all the new bells and whistles. During the interview process I was told that the role was hybrid but that the company was leaning towards going back to fully remote. That was not the case. Six months into the job and they went back to full in office. Complete opposite direction. Even though leadership said remote was here to stay just a year earlier. I was not onboarded at all. It was a work setting where the team was scattered across the globe but we were never directed to turn our cameras on. Leadership kept touting how we were supported by top senior leadership in all these changes we were spearheading. We certainly weren't! We had opposition every step of the way. I was addressed constantly by my grade most of the time followed by my position. Hardly ever by my name and this blanketed grade/position approach made the culture cold and uncomfortable. I was never approached to discuss my career goals, or experience or value or where else I could help out. Never treated as a human being with aspirations, value or even feelings. Turns out this was more common across the company the more I spoke to my co-workers. Our culture was also poisoned by someone that had complete control over the main product and this person badmouthed everyone else to management. This person even hung up on peers during calls. Leadership did nothing to this person after myself and others reported them. They actually enabled this person more. So unprofessional and so unhealthy. Then folks started to leave the company and getting fired out of nowhere. But we were getting recognition and awards from all our stakeholders! It made zero sense. There was a change in leadership and the new person spent their first two months not speaking with me at all only to set up a one on one out of the blue on a Tuesday morning to tell me I was being laid off that afternoon due to a "workforce reduction." Dell Technologies is the worst experience of my professional career. There was also rounds and rounds of layoffs my entire time there so everyone was completely stressed and walked around on egg shells. Anyone thinking about working here should read this and stay away. FYI... this all happened in less than a year and a half.
