Pros

Paid time off is four weeks. That is including sick time. Benefits are ok. Medical, dental, and vision. 7.5% total 401k match is nice.

Cons

Recently got rid of most assistant branch managers leaving operational duties to managers that were mostly sales managers not operational managers. Those duties are now being passed down to the sales people even if upper management does not believe that to be the case. Unclear career path for bankers at this time. Additional responsibilities and doing things the assistant manager and in the absence of your manager filling in that role too with no additional compensation. Poor morale. Salary and commission schedule poor and not comparable to other banks. I and many other bankers will be leaving once the economy and job market improve. Holding pattern until then. I would not recommend working for capital one.

Pros

Great culture, supportive leadership, and meaningful creative work with opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

There can be a learning curve due to the size of the organization and the number of internal tools and processes.

Pros

Some of the smartest individuals in their fields. The focus is always “forward” and the company is willing to adopt new tech to stay ahead for the purposes of the company’s (key word there) benefit. Great PTO and benefits.

Cons

The company’s drive to keep itself moving forward has caused it to regress in other aspects. As a leading tech company first, and leading bank second, it’s embarrassing what their stance is on hybrid and remote work. The company can easily accommodate remote options for their employees not near main offices, but chooses not to. I am relocating to a major city with no major CapOne presence and their response was “too bad, either fly up weekly or you’ll be terminated for not meeting the hybrid requirements”. It’s embarrassing because most of my week is remote anyways. I wonder how many current and past employees have been impacted, and I’m worried about how much talent they’ll be pushing away in the coming years.
